Occasionally called tongue and groove pliers or even adjustable pliers, waterpump pliers are highly versatile hand tools which can be put to use in a wide variety of differing situations. Waterpump pliers afford the user additional grip because they boast serrated jaws. These are generally set around 45 from the position of the tools’ handles.
What makes waterpump pliers distinctive looking from other sorts of pliers is that one of the handle positions and corresponding jaws can have its position adjusted relative to the opposing one. In other words, the pivot point can be shifted to a number of different positions by sliding it along a tracking section. One of the major advantages of this design feature is that the tool can be made to fit with a variety of sizes without the handles being too wide apart to use with one hand only.
